2.1 Increase Work Efficiency

I created a two-minute quick demo video with the Powtoon video editing tool (trial version) for a project to solve a workplace efficiency problem. The project included two sections. The Powtoon video is the first section, functioning as an introduction to the problem and a brief explanation of how to solve the issue, followed by interactive PowerPoint slides that explain the details. The PowerPoint is attached to the showcase. The Powtoon Video includes sound effects, handwriting effects, and motion graphics. The Instructional Design Department used it for references. I am the sole creator of the entire video clip and developer of the detailed contents of the PPT project.

3.1 Helping ADHD Children to Read Scientific Materials

We created this group project for the course “Introduction to Instructional Design.” The project is an introductory practice of instructional design that begins with audience analysis, task analysis, and procedural design of instructional materials, including an implementation plan and feedback measuring methods for instructors. The course utilized traditional methods (Microsoft content developer tool), interactive laboratory activities, and gamification (a Jeopardy game I created for this course). My role in the group project included designing and developing the entire content scheme, providing original graphic design, and creative games. (Note: The exception is the mirrored ADHD graphics on the front page, which, with permission from CanStock Photo for educational purposes.) My group members were responsible for writing part of the theoretical contents and quizzes.

4. Cookie Taste Expert Training Project

This four-section project for the course “Introduction to Systematic Instructional Design” utilizes a cookie company as a model to create a training course for their Taste Expert Training. It starts with the Design Documents, Need Analysis, Instructional Objectives, Instructional Units, and Assessment/Evaluation techniques. It utilizes Microsoft PowerPoint embedded with Interactive Video (Hapyak) to initiate the training, followed by a quick video using Animoto for a recap and a short recipe video I created for the “fun application” section. It also used Augmented Reality (AR) technology within the training materials to engage learners in the Face-to-Face training section. I am the sole content developer and designer of this project. The interactive video and graphic images are original, except for a few from Creative Commons for educational purposes.

7. Inquiry and Measurement-Research Project (Created with Articulate 360)

This project was created by me using Articulate Storyline for the course “Inquiry and Measurement.” It is a detailed learning module using three chapters in the Inquiry and Measurement textbook by Zina O’Leary and conveys the author’s message for research projects. It includes voice-over, interactive quizzes, closed-captioning, and motion graphics. The graphic images were from the assets of the Articulate Storyline library.

8.1 Water Hardness in Florida

The following is a three-section project for the course “Introduction to Instructional Design.” The first section is a group project utilizing the Microsoft Word Content Developer to make learning content, objectives, and instructor guides, integrate learning theories, and perform learner and task analysis. The second and third sections include the learning materials, tutorial video, ThingLink Interactive Tool, and Brochure Design from my projects for other courses such as Open Learning Environment for 21st Century and Media for Instruction. My role includes developing the entire content scheme and original graphic designs, interactive games, ThinkLink, and Videos. My group members are responsible for writing part of the theoretical section and some quizzes.

9. Project Management: Client Expectation (Created with Articulate Storyline 360)

I designed this project with my group using Articulate Storyline (trial version) for the “Management of Instructional Development” course. All graphic images here were from an Articulate Storyline library. The video regarding call center client services was from a share-content on YouTube. I orchestrated the entire theme design and content and polished the project. My group member inserted the YouTube video and added a survey at the end of the project.

10a. Technology Test Kitchen

This is a project created for course “Introduction to Systematic Instructional Design”, to create a one-page Tech-Kitchen creatively introducing a piece of technology for instructional design. It was created with Microsoft content developer tool and graphic design function. I am the designer of the graphics and contents.

10b. Adding URL to Aurasma (a.k.a HP Reveal) Augmented Reality(AR) software

This short video was created by me for the course “Trends and Issues in Instructional Design and Technology”. It used Tinytake as a screen capture tool and Camtasia to edit the video sound effect with voice over to introduce another piece of AR technology.

11a. A Journey to Reading and Writing (Journey Series 1)

This is an award-winning activity designed by me for the course “Theories of Learning and Cognition for Instruction”. The activity is designed for the purpose of educating villagers from illiterate nations utilizing ARCS motivational model and tactical activities to engage the entire class of graduate students who mimicked the villagers in a real-time scenario.

11b. A Journey to Volcanic Eruption (Journey Series 2)

The “Volcano Journey” PPT was a complementary teaching materials entirely created by me as part of the project of “Teaching ADHD Children to Read non-fiction Materials”. I designed the experimental procedure, made the experimental materials from scratch including using flours, food coloring and baked the volcano model in the oven, and took photos for each step to develop the procedural instruction for instructors to follow. I also used shared-graphic contents from creative common and used the book cover page photo to introduce the book to students and instructors.

12.  Living in 21st Century (PPT Presentation)

This is a face-to-face presentation and activity introducing Situated Cognition Theory for instructional designers in the class of “Theories of Learning and Cognition for Instruction”. The presentation starts with an introduction of futuristic concepts to bring forth how those concepts generate cognitive activities in students assumption, thus expanding their imagination and understanding of their future centuries. The activity section includes group work to answer and create more ideas about futuristic life. Thus, an introduction of anchor instruction, cognitive apprenticeship and learning community.
